A friend reports that someone recently asked her to stop breastfeeding in public. This is a reminder to all of you breastfeeding mums that your right to breastfeed your baby is protected by the Breastfeeding (Scotland) Bill, passed in 2005. The bill makes it an offence for anyone to stop you from feeding milk to a child under 2 in public or in licensed premises where children are allowed. The law is punishable by a large fine. Please write to us if you encounter a problem, and remember the law is on your side!
