Whether it’s your baby’s first Christmas or your toddler’s third, there are dozens of ways to celebrate the season in Glasgow over the next few weeks. This weekend kicks off the Family Fun Days in George Square, where you’ll find face painting, ice sculptures, live music, a carnival and Santa’s Grotto. Santa’s Grotto is open from 22 November – 24 December (Mon-Fri, 2-8, Sat/Sun 11-8), and includes a visit with the Big Man, a photo and a Christmas gift for 7 pounds. Admission to the Family Fun Days is free. Visit http://www.winterfestglasgow.com for more details. Kelvingrove Museum also has a Festive Family Weekend on 6 and 7 December (each day at 3) called Bringing in the Mistletoe. The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall will continue its wonderful Children’s Classic Concerts with “Sleigh Ride” on 13 December at 1 and 3pm. CBeebies are visiting the SECC with their Christmas Spectacular on 11 December at 2pm and 5:30pm. The King’s Theatre will have a Cinderella panto, and the Tron Theatre has a children’s play about Rudolph called Little Rudi. Please write to tell us of other exciting events you know about!
The National Childbirth Trust is holding a Nearly New Sale this Saturday, 15 November, from 10am – noon at Hyndland Secondary School (5 Lauderdale Gardens, Glasgow G12). This twice-yearly NCT sale is a chance for mums to pick up some bargains and offload some things their children have grown out of. Clothing, toys, books, and practical items will all be sold by mums, and a portion of each sale will go to the NCT. Visit NCT Glasgow North for more information. See you there!
